MINUTES

Representative Paymar, Chair of Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, February 20th in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present

HF411 (Hilstrom) Money used or intended for use to facilitate a prostitution or sex trafficking offense forfeiture provided for.

Rep. Hilstrom moved that HF411 be recommended to pass and be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Public Safety Finance Bill.

Testifying on behalf of HF411 were:

Dave Pinto - Assistant Ramsey County Attorney
Jim Mogan - Assistant Ramsey County Attorney

Chair Paymar laid over HF411.

Rep. Savick moved that the minutes from the February 19, 2013 meeting be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

Continuation the Department of Corrections budget overview

Presenting the overview on behalf of the Department of Corrections were:

Thomas Roy - Commissioner
Terry Carlson - Deputy Commissioner, Facilities Division
Dr. Grant Duwe - Director of Research
Kathy Halverson - Warden, Minnesota Correctional Facility, Red Wing
Kelly Heifort - Transition Manager, Community Reentry Services






The meeting was adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
