MINUTES

Representative Hilstrom, Chair of Committee on Judiciary Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 2:16 PM on March 5, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members excused:

HF161 (Cornish) Homicide victim specified personal property protection inventory and emergency order authorized to preserve rights of decedent's heirs and beneficiaries; notice of rights and procedures added to crime victims' chapter.

At 2:17 a quorum was present.

Representative Cornish moved that HF161 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register.

Leslie Johnson testified in favor of HF161.

Representative Cornish renewed his motion that HF161 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF136 (Hansen) Campaign finance and public disclosure law public official definition expanded to include judges and county commissioners.

Chair Hilstrom moved that HF136 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register.

Gary Goldsmith, Executive Director, Campaign Finance Board testified on HF161.

Chair Hilstrom laid HF136 over.

At 2:39 PM Vice-Chair Melin assumed the Chair.

HF410 (Hilstrom) Crime victim's estate authorized to request or enforce an order for restitution.

Representative Hilstrom moved that HF410 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register.

Representative Hilstrom presented the bill.

Representative Hilstrom renewed her motion that HF410 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

At 2:42 PM Chair Hilstrom assumed the Chair.

Rep Bly moved approval of the minutes from February 26, 2013. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF482 (Atkins) Survival or continuation of an action provided after the death or disability of a party.

Chair Hilstrom moved that HF482 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register.

Joel Carlson Legal Research/Government Affairs, testified in favor of HF482.

Bill Hart, attorney, testified in opposition to HF482.

Chair Hilstrom renewed her motion that HF482 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:06 PM.
