MINUTES

Representative Hilstrom, Chair of Committee on Judiciary Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 2:15 PM on January 16, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members excused:


A quorum was present and the meeting was called to order at 2:15 PM.


Representative McNamar moved to approve the minutes.
The minutes were approved.


Kevin Kajer, Chief Administrator, Board of Public Defense, and John Stuart, State Public Defender, provided a public defender overview and took questions from the committee.


Judge Leslie Metzen, Guardian Ad Litem Board Chair, Suzanne Alliegro, Guardian Ad Litem Program Administrator, and Melissa Olson, Guardian Ad Litem for the 4th District, provided an overview of the Guardian Ad Lietm program and took questions from the committee.


Vice-Chair Melin assumed the gavel at 3:05 PM.


Chair Hilstrom assumed the gavel at 3:09 PM.

Kelly Lynn Mitchell, Executive Director, Sentencing Guidelines Commission, and Jeff Edblad, Sentencing Guidelines Commission Chair and Isanti County Attorney, provided an overview of the Sentencing Guidelines Board and took questions from the committee.


The meeting was adjourned at 3:47 PM.
