MINUTES

Representative Hilstrom, Chair of Committee on Judiciary Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 2:15 PM on February 12, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members excused:


A quorum was not present.

Jeff Shorba, State Court Administrator, Judge John Smith, MN District Judges Association, and Judge Gregg Johnson, MN District Judges Association, provided an overview of the courts budget.


A quorum was present at 2:18 PM.


Vice Chair Melin assumed the gavel at 3:04 PM.


HF278 (Hortman) Uniform Electronic Legal Material Act enacted as approved by the National Conference of Commissioners on the Uniform State Laws.


Representative Hortman moved HF278 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register.


Michelle Timmons, Revisor of the Statutes, testified in support of HF278.

Representative Hortman renewed her motion that HF278 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Judge Brad Delapena, Chief Judge, Minnesota Tax Court, and Judge Joanne Turner, Minnesota Tax Court provided an overview of the Tax Court budget.


The meeting was adjourned at 3:22 PM.
