MINUTES
Representative Poppe, Chair of Committee on Agriculture Policy, called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Erickson moved that
HF322, (Erickson) extending the sunset date of Minnesota Agriculture Education Leadership Council (MAELC), be approved and be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations.
Kesha Henry, Ph.D., Executive Director, MAELC testified on
HF322.
Jerry Schoenfeld, MAELC testified on
HF322.
Jeff Eppen, Agriculture Educator, Sibley East High School testified on MAELC.
Tyler Warren, student at the University of Minnesota testified on his involvement in agricultural programs and the impact MAELC has on those programs.
Becky Meyer, Executive Director, Academy for Sciences and Agriculture testified on the impact of MAELC on the academy.
Erickson renewed his motion that
HF322 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Faust moved approval of the minutes from February 13, 2013. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
George Goblish, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association presented on the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:46 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013.
