GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the fortieth meeting to order at 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Chair Peppin invited the new committee staff to introduce themselves.

Representative Murray moved that the minutes of May 17, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0389 (Beard) Interim planning ordinances and municipal development contracts provided.

Representative Beard moved that HF0389 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Representative Beard moved the HF0389, as amended.

Chair Peppin announced that the bill would be laid over.

HF0673 (Banian) Public value impact statements required for legislation.

Chair Peppin moved that HF0673 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State Government Finance Committee.

Representative Murray assumed the gavel at 11:20 a.m.

The committee heard testimony on HF0673.

Chair Peppin assumed the gavel at 11:25 a.m.

Chair Peppin renewed her motion that HF0673 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State Government Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1560 (Wardlow) Office of Administrative hearings disposition of contested case hearings provided.

Chair Peppin moved that HF1560 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State Government Finance Committee.

Chair Peppin moved the HF1560A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF1560, as amended.

Chair Peppin renewed her motion that HF1560, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State Government Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1810 (Dill) Lake Superior-Popular River Water District established, funding provided for the construction of water facilities, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Chair Peppin moved that HF1810 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Policy and Finance Committee.

The committee heard testimony on HF1810.

Chair Peppin renewed her motion that HF1810 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Policy and Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:04 p.m.
