MINUTES

Representative O'Driscoll acting Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 in Room 300 South of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Quam moved approval of the minutes from April 28, 2011 and April 29, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF1523 (Holberg) Zoning for residential property used as vacation rental provided.
Representative O’Driscoll moved that HF1523 be brought before the committee and laid over for future consideration.

Representative O’Driscoll laid the bill over for future consideration.

Representative Hancock moved that HF1358 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Hancock moved the H1358DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative O’Driscoll moved the H1358A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

NAYS:

ON A VOTE OF 9 AYES TO 6 NAYS, THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND HF1358 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS, AS AMENDED, AND PLACED ON THE GENERAL REGISTER.

The Committee adjourned at 12:05 p.m.

    HF1607 (Woodard) State Patrol authorized to provide security and protection to certain government officials, and Capitol complex security committee established.
    HF1643 (Mazorol) Certificates issued to business entities simplified, effective date of agent resignations modified, notice provided to organizations revised, alternative names allowed, business entities redefined, certificates to business trusts and municipal power agencies eliminated, and an inadvertent error corrected regarding nonprofit directors' conflicts of interest.
