GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS
MINUTES
Representative Peppin Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative O’Driscoll moved approval of the minutes from February 24, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
HF613 (Kelly) Red Wing Port Authority member terms provided.
Representative O’Driscoll moved that
HF613 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative O’Driscoll renewed his motion that
HF613 be recommended to pass, and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND
HF613 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS.
Chair Peppin recessed the committee at 10:21 a.m.
Chair Peppin reconvened the committee at 10:25 a.m.
HF511 (Erickson) Educational mandates deemed unneeded removed.
Representative Sanders moved that
HF511 recommended to pass, and be re-referred to the committee on Education Finance.
Representative Sanders moved the H0511A5 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Sanders renewed his motion that
HF511 be recommended to pass, as amended, and be re-referred to the committee on Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND
HF511 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION FINANCE.
HF696 (Runbeck) Local government authority to issue bonds payable with property taxes for employee benefits repealed.
Chair Peppin moved that
HF696 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on K-12 Finance.

Chair Peppin laid over
HF696 for future consideration.
