GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS

MINUTES

Representative Peppin Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

No members were excused.

A quorum was present.

Representative Winkler moved approval of the minutes from February 16, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WHERE APPROVED.

HF281 (Carlson) State primary election returns canvassing time increased.

Representative Nelson moved that HF281 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Nelson moved the H0281DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Nelson renewed his motion that HF281 be recommended to pass, as amended, and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND HF281 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS.

Representative Murray assumed the gavel at 10:35 a.m.

HF52 (Peppin) City, county, and town zoning control and ordinance variances provided.

Representative Peppin moves that HF52 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

On a vote of 10 AYES and 5 NAYS, THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Simon moved that the bill be tabled and requested a roll-call vote.

Representative Peppin renewed her motion that HF52 be recommended to pass as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND HF52 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AS AMENDED.

HF305 (Persell) Northern Township detached facility authorized.

Representative Sanders moved that bill pass and placed on general register.

Representative Sanders renewed his motion that HF305 be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND HF305 WAS RECOMMENDED.
