REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mary Murphy, Chair of the Committee on Redistricting, called the virtual meeting to order at 2:00 PM on December 9, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members present:

Vice Chair Klevorn moved to approve the minutes from December 2nd, 2021. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Murphy brought HF2632 before the committee and moved that HF2632 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Murphy moved H2632DE1 amendment.

Representative Torkelson moved the H2632A1 amendment to the H2632DE1 amendment. The roll call was taken:

Chair Murphy moved the H2632A2 amendment to the H2632DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Murphy restated the motion to adopt H2632DE1 amendment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Murphy renewed her motion that HF2632, as amended, be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Murphy moved the MG058A2 (Map C2101-1) amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Murphy moved the committee instruct the revisor to draft MG058 as amended as a committee bill for introduction under House Rule 1.13.

* The committee will work from the delete everything amendment posted on the House Redistricting website 11/19/2021 and the corresponding L2101-0 map.
**The committee will work from the MG058 congressional district plan document posted on the House Redistricting Committee website 11/23/2021 and corresponding C2101-0 map. After final committee action, it will be introduced as a committee bill when the legislature reconvenes on January 31, 2022.

NOTES: Member amendments for both sets of redistricting plans are due by Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Noon. Additional public testimony is not planned beyond the December 2 meeting. Committee votes on amendments and plans for the legislative and congressional districts will be taken at this meeting.
