Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Committee on Industrial Education and Economic Development Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 8:30 AM on March 10, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Sandell moved that the minutes of February 24, 2021, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Lislegard moved that HF 1337 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Labor, Industry, Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy.

Representative Lislegard moved the H1337DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lislegard presented HF 1337 as amended, a bill for an act relating to career preparedness; creating a career pathway grant program; authorizing online learning through contracts with qualifying supplemental online learning providers; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, sections 124D.095; 124D.096.

Testifying on HF 1337 as amended:

• Jenny Winkelaar, Director of Workforce and Community Development, Operating Engineers Local 49

Representative Lislegard renewed the motion that HF 1337 as amended be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Labor, Industry, Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy.
