FINANCE & POLICY MINUTES

Representative Connie Bernardy, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 3:00 PM on March 23, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Noor moved that the minutes of March 22, 2022, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 4449 (Noor); Free college grant program created to cover full cost of state college tuition and fees, report required, and money appropriated.

Representative Bernardy moved that HF 4449 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative Bernardy moved the H4449A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Bernardy renewed the motion that HF 4449 as amended be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

HF 4020 (Sandell); Career and technical education teacher pilot project expanded, report required, and money appropriated.

Representative Bernardy moved that HF 4020 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative Bernardy renewed the motion that HF 4020 be laid over for possible inclusion in a committee omnibus bill.

HF 3550 (Baker); Online hospitality training program creation funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Bernardy moved that HF 3550 be referred to the Committee on Workforce and Business Development Finance and Policy.
