FINANCE & POLICY MINUTES

Representative Connie Bernardy, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 3:00 PM on March 8, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Sandstede moved that the minutes of March 2, 2022, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3872 (Bernardy); Higher education supplemental funding provided for the Office of Higher Education, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, and the University of Minnesota; financial aid programs amended and created; reports required; and money appropriated.

Representative Christensen moved that HF 3872 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative Christensen renewed the motion that HF 3872 be laid over for possible inclusion in a committee omnibus bill.

HF 3817 (Keeler); Increase Teachers of Color Act strengthened, supplemental financing provided for grants to underrepresented student teachers of color scholarship pilot program, and money appropriated.

Representative Bernardy moved that HF 3917 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.
