MINUTES

Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30am on March 31, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcasted via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Sandstede moved that the minutes from March 30, 2022, be approved. Motion prevailed.

HF 3401 (Rep. Richardson) - Education; prekindergarten through grade 12 including general education, education excellence, inclusive and welcoming schools, health and wellness, teachers, charter schools, nutrition and libraries, early childhood, career and technical education, postsecondary enrollment options, and graduation provisions modified; administrative updates and technical corrections made; and reports required.

Rep. Richardson moved that HF 3401 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

Rep. Richardson moved that the A11 author’s amendment to HF 3401 be presented to and adopted by the committee. A voice vote was taken. Motion prevailed; the amendment was adopted.

Rep. Richardson presented HF 3401, as amended.

Rep. Richardson renewed the motion to lay over HF 3401, as amended, for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.

HF 3937 (Rep. Bennett) - School board and nonpublic school allowed to enter into nonpublic school student transportation agreement.

Rep. Bennett moved that HF 3937 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

Rep. Bennett presented HF 3937.

Rep. Bennett renewed the motion to lay over HF 3937 for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.
