MINUTES

Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30am on February 8, 2022 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Sandstede moved that the minutes from February 3, 2022 be approved. Motion prevailed.

Presentation relating to statewide population trends from Megan Dayton, Senior Demographer, MN State Demographic Center

Presentation relating to the English Learner (EL) cross subsidy from Daley Lehmann, Assistant Director, School Finance, MN Department of Education

Rep. Youakim moved that HF 2944 be presented before the committee; be laid over for possible inclusion or for further consideration.

HF 2944 (Rep. Her) English Learner funding increased, EL cross-subsidy aid added


Rep. Youakim renews her motion to lay over HF 2944 for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.

Rep. Marquart moved that HF 1939 be presented before the committee; be laid over for possible inclusion or for further consideration.
