MINUTES

Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30am on March 11, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting is being broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Jordan moved that the minutes from March 9, 2021 be approved. Motion prevailed.

Rep. Feist moved that the minutes from March 10, 2021 be approved. Motion prevailed.

HF 1092 (Hollins) HF 1092 appropriates $1.5 million per year to the Girl Scout Councils to implement the ConnectZ program which serves underrepresented, under-resourced girls in kindergarten through grade 12. The ConnectZ provides programming related to: healthy relationships; science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); financial literacy; college and career readiness; and leadership development and service learning. HF 1092 requires the grant recipients to report on student participation, program outcomes, and actual grant expenditures.

Rep. Marquart moved that HF 1092 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.
