MINUTES

Representative Davids, Chair of the Taxes Committee, started the meeting at 10:15 AM, on Thursday, March 1st, 2018, in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was not present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Davids officially called the meeting to order at 10:19 AM. A quorum was present.

Representative Schultz moved the minutes of Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2339 (Rosenthal) Charitable contributions tax credits provided, endow Minnesota program established, reports required, and money appropriated.

Representative Marquart moved HF2339 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Marquart moved the HF2339A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Marquart renewed his motion that HF2339, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

HF2296 (Metsa) Occupation taxes apportionment modified.

Representative Metsa moved HF2296 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Metsa moved the HF2296A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifiers:
Joe Henderson, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Representative Metsa renewed his motion that HF2296, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

HF2833 (Drazkowski) Tip income subtraction allowed, and withholding requirements modified.

Representative Drazkowski moved HF2833 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Drazkowski renewed his motion that HF2833 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Garofalo moved HF486 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Garofalo moved the HF486A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Garofalo renewed his motion that HF486, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.
