LEGACY FUNDING FINANCE

MINUTES

Representative Gunther, Chair of the Legacy Funding Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:03 p.m. on March 19, 2018, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members Present:

GUNTHER, Bob, Chair MURPHY, Mary
LAYMAN, Sandy, Vice Chair TORKELSON, Paul
FREIBERG, Mike URDAHL, Dean
GREEN, Steve WAGENIUS, Jean
LILLIE, Leon WILLS, Anna


A quorum was present.

Members excused: ANSELMO, Dario, THISSEN, Paul.

Representative Lillie moved that the minutes of March 27, 2017 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3215 (Davids) (Historical and cultural grant appropriation modified.) Chair Gunther moved that HF3215 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Legacy Funding Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Davids discussed HF3215.

Chair Gunther renewed his motion that HF3215 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Legacy Funding omnibus bill.

HF3269 (Green) (Arts and cultural heritage fund funding requirements amended, and civil penalty for projects promoting terrorism or criminal activity created.) Representative Green moved that HF3269 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Legacy Funding Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Green discussed HF3269.

Representative Green renewed his motion that HF3269 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Legacy Funding Finance omnibus bill.

HF2789 (Fabian) (Outdoor heritage fund money appropriated, and notice to local government required before acquiring land in fee.) Chair Gunther moved that HF2789 pass and be re-referred to the Ways & Means Committee.

Representative Green moved the H2789A4 amendment.

Representative Green discussed the H2789A4 amendment.

Representative Green withdrew the H2789A4 amendment.



Testifying were the following on HF2789:

Mark Johnson, Executive Director, Lessard Sams Outdoor Heritage Council;
Annalee Garletz, Policy Coordinator, MN Department of Natural Resources.

Chair Gunther renewed his motion that HF2789 pass and be re-referred to the Ways & Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


The meeting was adjourned at 2:08 p.m.
