MINUTES



Representative Tim O’Driscoll, Chair of the Government Operation and Election Policy Committee called the meeting to order at 10:19AM on March 13, 2018, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Peterson moved to approve the minutes of March 7, 2018. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF2574 (Dean) Rare diseases advisory council established.

Representative O’Driscoll moved HF2574 before the committee to be rereferred to the Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee.

Representative Dean Presented HF2574.

Representative O’Driscoll moved the H2574A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative O’Driscol renewed his motion to move HF2574 as amended to be rereferred to the Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF2725 (Dean) County-based eligibility determination for medical assistance and MinnesotaCare required, seeking a waiver to determine eligibility for premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions required, legislative oversight of expenditures provided, and money appropriated.

Representative O’Driscoll moved HF2725 before the committee to be rereferred to the Civil Law Committee.

Representative Dean presented HF2725.

Matt Hilgart with the Association of Minnesota Counties testified in favor of the bill.





Representative O’Driscoll renewed his motion to move HF2725 to be rereferred to the Civil Law Committee. Representative Youakim requested a roll call. The results were as follows:

Representative O’Driscoll moved H1541DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Thissen presented HF1541 as amended.

Rick Heller testified as the Unofficial Representative of the Twice Exception and Prin, 4-pd2e, in favor of HF1541.

Representative O’Driscoll moved HF1541 as amended be rereferred to the State Government Operations Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
