MINUTES

Representative Anderson, Chair of the Agriculture Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:25 a.m. on March 17, 2016 in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Anderson started the meeting at 10:20 a.m. A quorum was not present.

HF2517 Land farmed by a beginning farmer qualification for homestead classification

Rep. Mark Anderson moved that HF2517 be re-referred to the committee on Property Taxes and Local Government Finance Division.

Rep. Mark Anderson renewed his motion that HF2517 be re-referred to the committee on Property Taxes and Local Government Finance Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Bly moved to approve the technical corrections for the minutes from March 4, 2015, March 5, 2015 and March 15, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Schomacker moved to approve the minutes from March 18, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2874 Agritourism activity definition modified

Rep. Hamilton moved that HF2874 be re-referred to the committee on Civil Law and Data Practices.

Testifying on HF2874, Rep. Hamilton, Caleb Smith, Founder of STEM Bunnies, Stephanie Smith, STEM Bunnies.

Rep. Hamilton renewed his motion that HF2874 be re-referred to the committee on Civil Law and Data Practices. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1235 Debt amount required for mediation notice modified, and farmer-lender mediation program extended until 2021

Chair Anderson moved that HF1235 be re-referred to the committee on Government Operation and Elections Policy.

Chair Anderson moved the H1235DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testifying on HF1235, Chair Anderson, Tess Rice, Minnesota Bankers Association, Thom Petersen, Minnesota Farmers Union, David Skilbred, Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota.

Rep. Bly moved the H1235A4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Anderson moved that HF1235, as amended be re-referred to the committee on Government Operations and Election Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
