MINUTES
Representative Lenczewski, Chair of Committee on Taxes, called the meeting to order at 12:30 PM February 7 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Loeffler assumed the gavel at 12:35 pm.

Representative Lenczewski moved HF 91 to the committee.

Representative Lenczewski moved the H0091A2 amendment.

The amendment was adopted.

Molly Molianen of ClearWay Minnesota testified in favor of HF 91.

Dr. Courtney Jordan Baechler of the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing testified in favor of HF 91.

Dr. Peter Dehnel of BlueCross and BlueShield of Minnesota testified in favor of HF 91.

Mike Bromelkamp of Olson Thielen Accounting testified in favor of HF 91.

Dr. Thomas Kottke of HealthPartners testified in favor of HF 91.

Kaila Narum, of Colleges Against Cancer, the ASC Midwest Youth Advisory Team and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network testified in favor of HF 91.

Jinny Johnson, Dr. Jonathan Rose and Gloria Cazanacli of Tobacco Control Leadership Fellows testified in favor of HF 91.

Debbie Kenney of American Cancer Society testified in favor of HF 91.

Tom Briant of Minnesota Wholesale Marketers Association testified in opposition of HF 91.

The Minnesota Grocers Association provided written testimony to the committee in opposition of HF 91.

Monte Williams of Altria testified in opposition of HF 91.

Kim Crockett of the Minnesota Free Market Institute at Center of the American Experiment testified in opposition of HF 91.

Dr. Kottke, Joel Michael and Representative Lenczewski answered questions of the committee.

Representative Peppin made the motion and requested a roll call to move HF 91 to the committee of Human Health and Services Finance.

Representative Loon moved HF 284 to the committee.

Representative Loon moved A0284A3 amendment to the committee.

The amendment was adopted.

HF 284 was laid over for possible inclusion for the Taxes Omnibus bill. No further action was taken on the bill.
