MINUTES

Representative Paymar, Chair of Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 9th, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Kelly moved that the minutes of the April 3, 2013 meeting be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 1010 (Simonson) Repeat sex offender 36-month presumptive executed sentence provided for.

Rep. Simonson moved that H.F. 1010 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 724 (Paymar) Funds received from out-of-state offenders incarcerated in Minnesota appropriated to the Department of Corrections; certificates of compliance for public contracts modified; and money appropriated for public safety, judiciary, corrections, and human rights.

Rep. Paymar moved that H.F. 724 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Rep. Paymar moved to amend H.F. 724 as follows: (see attached, coded H0724DE3). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Paymar moved to amend H.F. 724, as amended, as follows: (see attached, coded H0724A3). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testifying on H.F. 724 was:

Mona Dohman – Commissioner, Department of Public Safety

Rep. Paymar renewed his motion that H.F. 724, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:49 a.m.
