MINUTES

Representative Kahn, Chair of the Legacy Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:20 P.M. on February 27, 2013 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present at 2:23 P.M.

Bill Strusinski, appearing on behalf of Minnesota Public Television Association (MPTA), thanked the committee for its past support.

Les Heen, General Manager, Pioneer Public Television, appearing on behalf of MPTA, explained some of the programs that Legacy funding was used for in the past.

Dianne Steinbach, Director of Arts and Cultural Media at Twin Cities Public Television, appearing on behalf of MPTA, explained MPTA's future initiatives and their funding request.

Joel Glaser, Executive Director, Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations (AMPERS) explained who AMPERS is and how they are different from Minnesota Public Radio. He also explained how AMPERS has used Legacy funding in the past and what they hope to accomplish in the future.

Timotha Lanae, Artist, appearing on behalf of AMPERS, explained some of the ways that AMPERS has helped her personally and briefly outlined their Legacy funding request.

Tom Hanson, appearing on behalf of AMPERS, responded to member questions about how the Legacy money is appropriated.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:37 P.M.
