MINUTES

Representative Liebling, Chair of Committee on Health and Human Services Policy, called the meeting to order at 2:26 pm, February 26, 2014 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Chair Liebling moved that HF1988 (Laine) be recommended to be re-referred to the Commerce and Consumer Protection Finance and Policy Committee.

Chair Liebling moved the oral amendment offered by the author of the bill, Representative Laine. The oral amendment is as follows: HF1988 line 5.28, delete the word “provider” and replace with “establishment”. Motion prevailed. Amendment adopted.

Representative Halverson presented information on HF1931 (Halverson). HF1974 (Kahn) was offered to the committee for informational purposes.

The committee reconvened at 7:24 pm.

Chair Liebling moved the oral amendment to delete Section 1 (lines 1.6 through 1.11) of HF1931. Motion prevailed. Amendment adopted.

Chair Liebling renewed her motion that HF1931 be recommended to be re-referred as amended to the Government Operations Committee. Motion prevailed.

Representative Fritz moved that HF1831 (Fritz) be recommended to be re-referred to Health and Human Services Finance. Representative Fritz presented information on the HF1831.

Representative Fritz moved the H1831A1 amendment. Motion prevailed. Amendment adopted.

Representative Fritz renewed her motion that HF1831 (Fritz) be recommended as amended to be re-referred to Health and Human Services Finance. Motion prevailed.

Chair Liebling moved that HF1971 (Liebling) be recommended to be re-referred to the Civil Law Committee. Motion prevailed.

The committee adjourned at 8:45 pm.

The committee has already heard public testimony on HF1988 and HF1971. Additional testimony will not be taken prior discussing amendments and taking a vote. HF1971 will be heard pending re-referral from the public safety committee. HF 1974 will be discussed in conjunction with HF 1931 but will not be formally acted upon.
