MINUTES

Representative Nelson, Chair of Committee on Government Operations, called the meeting to order at 10:03am on March 26, 2014 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Testimony on HF2945:

A quorum was present at 10:08am.

Chair Nelson moved that HF2945 be recommended to be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2541 (Hortman) Energy improvement program changes made for local governments, and technical changes made

Chair Nelson moved that HF2541 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2541 be recommended to be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF653 (Quam) Social media communications not considered meetings under open meeting law

Chair Nelson moved that HF653 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Nelson moved to amend HF653 (See attached H0653A2 amendment). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF653, as amended, be recommended to be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2434 (Woodard) Cedar Lake area water and sanitary sewer district maximum number of connections increased; and Helena Township in Scott County authorized to use surplus land, property, or money after removal of a subordinate service district

Chair Nelson moved that HF2434 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Chair Nelson moved to amend HF2434 (See attached H2434A1 amendment). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2434, as amended, be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2474 (Hansen) Dakota County; local county government plan adoption authorized

Representative Hansen moved that HF2474 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Testimony on HF2474:
Commissioner Chris Gerlach, Dakota County

Representative Hansen renewed the motion that HF2474 be recommended to be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice-Chair Freiberg moved approval of the minutes from March 25, 2014. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The gavel was passed to Vice-Chair Freiberg at 10:49am.

HF2613 (Nelson) Hennepin County; multijurisdictional reinvestment program modified

Chair Nelson moved that HF2613 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Nelson moved to amend HF2613 (See attached H2613A1 amendment). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The gavel was passed to Representative Falk at 11:05am.
