MINUTES

Representative Nelson, Chair of Committee on Government Operations, called the meeting to order at 1:05pm on March 14, 2014 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.

HF2180 (Murphy) School district employee health coverage provisions amended, and money appropriated

A quorum was present at 1:06pm.

Chair Nelson moved that HF2180 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

Chair Nelson moved to amend HF2180 (See attached H2180DE2 amendment). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved to amend HF2180 (see attached H2180A13 amendment). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2180, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1961 (Halverson) Ethics in government; economic disclosure and conflicts of interest requirements expanded

Chair Nelson moved that HF1961 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2937 (Freiberg) Minnesota Historical Society technical changes made

Representative Freiberg moved that HF2937 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Representative Freiberg renewed the motion that HF2937 be recommended to be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2569 (Sawatzky) Educational opportunity for military children interstate compact adopted, and military-connected youth identifier required

Chair Nelson moved that HF2569 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs

Chair Nelson moved to amend HF2569 (See attached H2569A1 amendment). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testimony on HF2569:
Daron Korte, Minnesota Department of Education

Representative Theis requested a roll call vote.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2569, as amended, be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs.
