MINUTES

Representative Urdahl, Chair of the Legacy Funding Division Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:36pm on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in the Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

NO members were excused.

A quorum was present.

Representative Kiel moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 9, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF245 (Davids) Creating regional capital fund for arts organizations; appropriating money.

Representative Kiel moved that HF245 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Legacy Funding omnibus bill.

Representative Torkelson moved the H0245A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Winkler moved that HF245, as amended, be re-referred to Government Operations and Elections Committee without further recommendation. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF379 (Torkelson) Appropriating money from the arts and cultural heritage fund for grants to county agricultural societies.

Representative Torkelson moved that HF379 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Legacy Funding omnibus bill.

Representative Torkelson moved the H0379A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Winkler moved that HF379, as amended, be re-referred to the committee on Government Operations and Elections. THE MOTION WAS WITHDRAWN.

Representative McNamara moved to amend H0379A1 amendment as follows:

Page 1, line 8, delete everything after "shall".

Page 1, line 9, delete everything before "award".

Page 1, line 22, delete everything after "shall".

Page 1, delete lines 24 and 25.

Page 1, line 26, delete "committee" and insert "commissioner".

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Torkelson renewed his motion for HF379, as amended, and for possible inclusion in the Legacy Funding omnibus bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF334 (Westrom) Providing a grant to the Kensington Area Historical Society for development of a museum and heritage center.

Chair Urdahl moved that HF334 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Legacy Funding omnibus bill.

Representative Cornish moved that HF427 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Legacy Funding omnibus bill.
