MINUTES

Representative Benson, Vice Chairman of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:19 a.m. on March 27, 2012, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF2934 (Persell) State government and veteran affair funding provided, fund transfers provided for, various fees and accounts provided for, military burial honor provisions clarified, GI bill program modified, and money.

A quorum was present at 8:49 a.m.

Representative Banaian moved the minutes from the evening meeting of March22, 2012. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The committee continued testimony on HF2934.

Representative Lanning moved that HF2934 be laid over.

Representative McElfatrick moved the H2934 A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Simon moved to amend Representative Lanning’s motion and re-refer HF2934 to the Ways and Means Committee. Representative Simon requested a roll call vote.

Representative Banaian moved to table Representative Simon’s motion. Representative Simon requested a roll call vote.

The committee recessed at 9:22 a.m.

The committee reconvened at 9:26 a.m. Chairman Lanning resumed the gavel.

Roll Call Vote on tabling Representative Simon’s motion:

Aye: LANNING, BENSON ANDERSON, BANAIAN, DOWNEY, GUNTHER, LEIDIGER, MCELFATRICK, STENSRUD

Nay: LILLIE, MELIN, MURPHY, SIMON, SLAWIK, WINKLER

Absent: KAHN, GAUTHIER, GREENE, LOHMER, MURRAY, URDAHL

On a vote of 9 to 6, THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Simon moved to amend Chairman Lanning’s motion and re-refer HF2934 to the Taxes Committee. Representative Simon requested a roll call vote. Representative Benson moved to table the motion. Representative Winkler requested a roll call vote.

Aye: LANNING, BENSON, ANDERSON, BANAIAN, DOWNEY, GUNTHER, LEIDIGER, MCELFATRICK, STENSTRUD

Nay: KAHN, GAUTHIER, LILLIE, MELIN, MURPHY, SIMON, SLAWIK, WINKLER

On a vote of 9 to 8, THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2934 was laid over.

The committee adjourned at 9:56 a.m.
