JOBS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FINANCE

MINUTES

Representative Gunter, Chair of the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:33 p.m. on February 9, 2012, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Excused Member: DILL, David.

Chair Gunther moved to approve minutes of January 31, 2012. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1823 (Downey) Small Business Investment Credit modified, and credit for start-up and emerging Minnesota business provided.

Representative LeMieur moved HF 1823 before committee to pass and be re-referred to the Tax Committee.

Testifying on behalf of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development was Jeff Nelson, coordinator of Angel Tax Credit Program, and Paul Cassidy on behalf of Leonard, Street and Deinard.

Representative LeMieur renewed his motion that HF1823 pass and be re-referred to the Tax Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1968 (Loon) Minnesota Children's Museum funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Vice Chair McFarlane assumed the gavel at 1:45 p.m.

Vice Chair McFarlane moved HF1968 before committee.

Testifying on behalf of HF1968 was Dianne Krizan, President of Minnesota Children’s Museum.

Vice Chair McFarlane renewed her motion that HF1968 be laid over in committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Gunther moved HF1676 before committee to pass and be re-referred to the Tax Committee.

HF1676 (Gunther) Fast investment today program performance rewards created, tax benefits provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Gunther discussed HF1676.

Vice Chair McFarlane laid over HF1676 in committee for further discussion.


The meeting adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
