HIGHER EDUCATION POLICY AND FINANCE

MINUTES

Representative Nornes, Chair of the Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:33 PM on March 1, 2012 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Norton moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 28, 2012 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2126 (Mariani) State regulation exemption provided for schools.

Representative Pelowski moved that HF 2126 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill.

Chair Nornes moved that HF 2126 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1803 (Greiling) State grand eligibility clarified.

Representative Morrow moved that HF 1803 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill.

Representative Morrow moved to amend HF 1803 as follows:

Page 1, Line 10, delete "a", and insert "an unaccredited religious"
THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Nornes moved that HF 1803, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Rukavina assumed the gavel at 1:01 PM.

Representative Nornes moved that HF 1990 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill.

Representative Nornes moved the H1990A2 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Nornes moved that HF 2377 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill.

Representative Nornes moved the H2377A3 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
