GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the forty eighth meeting to order at 10:22 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Scalze moved that the minutes of February 21, 2012 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0389 (Beard) Interim planning ordinances and municipal development contracts provided.

Representative Beard renewed his motion that HF0389 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Representative Beard moved the H0389DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Beard moved to orally amend HF0389 as follows:
Page 3, line 22, delete the word "of" and replace with "following"
Page 4, line 7, delete the word "of" and replace with "following"

THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF1284 (Beard) Transportation and public safety policy provisions modified relating to bicycles and bikeways, highways, and bridges, motor vehicles, motor vehicle markings and equipment, traffic regulations, drive education, driver licensing, driver’s license exemption, DWI violations, alternative financing for transportation projects, contracting requirements, bus operations, railroads, motor carriers and commercial drivers, aeronautics and airports, and agency reporting; and money appropriated.

Representative Beard moved that HF1284 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Nelson moved the H1284A7 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF1284, as amended.

Representative Murray moved that HF2022 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register
