GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS

MINUTES

Representative Peppin Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:25 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

H.F. 371 (Hoppe) Local government employees required to approve participation in or withdrawal from the public employees insurance program.

Representative Beard moved that H.F. 371 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce Committee.

Representative Beard renewed his motion that H.F. 371 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED. H.F. 371 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMERCE COMMITTEE.

H.F. 66 (Drazkowski) Political contribution refund repealed.

Chair Peppin moved that H.F. 66 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Chair Peppin renewed her motion that H.F. 66 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED. H.F. 66 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND PLACED ON THE GENERAL REGISTER.

H.F. 917 (Melin) St. Louis County; fairground tax exemption provided.

Representative Winkler moved that H.F. 917 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Representative Winkler moved the H0917A1 amendment to H.F. 971. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Winkler renewed his motion that H.F. 917 be recommended to pass, as-amended, and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. H.F. 917 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON TAXES.
