Representative Denny McNamara, Chair of the Committee on Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Policy and Finance called the thirty-fourth meeting to order at 8:19 a.m. on March 24, 2011, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

H.F. 1162 (Ward) Nonnative species provisions modified, permits to control or harvest aquatic plants requirements modified, and criminal and civil penalties provided.
Rep. Persell moved that H.F. 1162 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Public Safety.
Bob Meier, MN Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Rod Smith, DNR, Vern Wagner, Anglers for Habitat, Luke Skinner, DNR, Barb Fischburg, Lake Detroiters Association, Henry Erdman, MN Seasonal and Recreational Lakeshore Property Owners Association, Lance Ness, Fish and Wildlife Legislative Alliance and Tera Guettner, Pelican River Watershed testified on H.F. 1162.
Rep. Torkelson assumed the gavel at 9:40 a.m.

Rep. Persell renewed his motion that H.F. 1162 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Public Safety. The motion prevailed.
