MINUTES

Representative Garofalo, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. on February 21, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Erickson moved that the joint hearing minutes of February 16, 2012 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2127 (Myhra) Online learning parameters modified, graduation requirements modified, and digital learning provided.

Representative Myhra moved HF2127 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Woodard moved the H2127A1 amendment to HF2127.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Myhra moved an oral amendment to HF2127:
Page 4, line 18, delete "digital curriculum" and insert "technology".
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Myhra moved the H2127A4 amendment to HF2127.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Pam Myhra presented HF2127 .

Representative Myhra renewed her motion that HF2127 be recommended to pass, as amended, and be re-referred to the General Register.

HF329 (Bills) Public school employees prohibited from using public funds and resources to advocate to pass, elect, or defeat a political candidate, ballot question, or pending legislation.

Representative Bills moved HF329 recommended to pass and be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Bills moved the H329DE2 amendment to HF329.
Representative Bills incorporated an oral amendment:
Page 1, line 1.11, delete subsection (3);
Page 1, line 1.14, delete
Page 1, line 1.13, renumber subsection (4) to be (3),
Page 1, line 1.13, delete "or"
Page 1, line 1.10 at the end of subsection (2), add "or"

HF2244 (O'Driscoll) Permanent School Fund Advisory Committee changed into a legislative commission, and commission authority granted to employ a director to oversee, manage, and administer school trust lands.

Representative Garofalo moved HF2244 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Environment, Energy and Natural Resources.

Representative Garofalo moved the H2244A1 amendment to HF2244.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Tim O’Driscoll presented HF2244.
