MINUTES

Representative Sanders, Vice-Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:35 p.m. on April 12, 2011, in the Basement hearing room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hoppe moved to approve the minutes for April 7, 2011. The motion prevailed.

Representative Daudt moved HF1405 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Daudt moved amendment H1405A1. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Peter Thrane from Leonard Street and Deinard testified.

John Reich from MN Department of Commerce testified.

Robert Commodore from MN Department of Commerce testified.

Representative Daudt renewed his motion that HF1405 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe moved HF1134 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Hoppe moved amendment H1134A5. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Hoppe moved amendment H1134A2.

Doug Franzen from Allstate Insurance testified.

Representative Hoppe’s motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

John Reich from the Department of Commerce testified.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF1134 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe moved HF1174 and recommended that it be laid over for inclusion in the liquor omnibus bill.

Scott McMahon from MN Private Colleges Association testified.

Doug Heiness from University of St. Thomas testified.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion. The motion prevailed.

Representative Sarah Anderson moved HF1248.

Representative McFarlane introduced HF1248 and recommended that it be laid over for possible inclusion in the liquor omnibus bill.

William Short from White Bear Township testified.

Representative Sarah Anderson moved amendment H1248A1. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Sarah Anderson renewed her motion that HF1248 be laid over as amended for possible inclusion in the liquor omnibus bill. The motion prevailed.

Representative Atkins moved HF1326 and recommended that it be laid over for possible inclusion in the liquor omnibus bill. The motion prevailed.

Representative Daudt moved HF1253 and recommended that it be laid over for possible inclusion in the liquor omnibus bill.

Representative Scott introduced HF1253.

Mark Hedin from White Rabbit Wineries testified.

Representative Daudt moved amendment H1253A1. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Daudt renewed his motion that HF1253 be laid over for possible inclusion in the liquor omnibus bill. The motion prevailed.

The chair adjourned the meeting at 3:24 p.m.
