MINUTES

Representative Hamilton, Chair of the Agriculture & Rural Development Policy & Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:26 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, in Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representatives Persell and Torkelson were excused.

A quorum was present.

Representative McElfatrick moved to approve the minutes of February 21, 2012. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Kiel moved HF 2158 to pass and to be sent to the General Register.
Representative Kiel moved the H2158DE1 amendment.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifying on HF 2158 as amended were:

Craig Pagel, Iron Mining Association
Amber Backhaus, Canadian Pacific Railroad

Representative Falk moved to amend HF 2158, the DE1 amendment by striking the words "and copper" on line 1.9. THE MOTION FAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Representative Falk moved to amend HF 2158, the DE1 amendment by striking line 1.8. THE MOTION FAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Representative Kiel renewed the motion to pass HF 2158 as amended and send it to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.





The meeting was adjourned at 11:16 a.m.
