Debra Hilstrom, Chair of the Public Safety Policy & Oversight Committee, started the thirty-seventh meeting of the House Public Safety Policy & Oversight Committee at 9:31 am on Thursday, April 15, 2010 in room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF2939 (Hosch): Protective agents authorized to use flashing lights in certain traffic situations.

Rep. Hosch presented HF2939 and took questions from the committee.

A quorum was present at 9:35 and the committee was called to order.

The following individuals testified on behalf of HF2939 and took questions from the committee:

Thomas FitzHenry, business president and resident of Richfield, MN

Ken Urquhart, Minnesota State Patrol, testified in opposition to HF2939 and took questions from the committee.

HF2827 (Hosch): Protective agent vehicle allowed use of flashing red light while escorting oversized vehicle.

SF2945 First Engrossment (Drazkowski): Child pornography related definition amended.

Rep. Drazkowski presented SF2945 En. 1 and took questions from the committee.

HF3637 (Urdahl): Persons prohibited from allowing underage drinking under certain circumstances.

Rep. Shimanski moved that HF3637 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Rules.

Rep. Shimanski moved to amend HF3637 (see H3637DE1).
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Shimanski moved to amend HF3637 as amended (see H3637A1).
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Urdahl presented HF3637 as amended, and took questions from the committee.

Chair Hilstrom laid over HF3637 as amended.

Vice-Chair Bigham moved to approve the minutes of March 18, 2010.
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.
