MINUTES



Representative Otremba, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:40 A.M. on, March 27, 2009, in Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Doty moved approval of the minutes from March 25, 2009.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Doty moved HF 1940, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

HF 1940 (Brod) relating to veterans; permitting a dependent returning from active military service to enroll as a dependent in the state employee group insurance program regardless of status as a full-time student;

Representative Brod explained HF 1940 to the committee.

Representative Doty renewed his motion that HF 1940, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Representative Morrow moved HF 253, the first engrossment, be recommended to be laid on the tabled.

HF 253 (Tillberry) relating to animals; providing standards of care for dog and cat breeders; authorizing rulemaking; providing criminal penalties; appropriating money;

Representative Morrow moved to amend HF 253, the first engrossment, as follows: (see amendment A09-0244A)
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Tillberry explained HF 253 to the committee and took questions from the members.
