MINUTES


Representative Otremba, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:51 P.M. on, February 18, 2009, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Olin moved approval of the minutes from February 16, 2009.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Shimanski moves that HF541 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

HF541(Juhnke) relating to property taxes; extending the time frame for eligibility for the surviving spouses of certain disabled military veterans to receive the residential homestead market value exclusion;

Representative Juhnke presented his bill to the committee.

Representative Shimanski renewed his motion that HF541 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Morrow moves that HF303 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.

HF303(Lillie) a resolution memorializing the Congress of the United States to appoint an independent counsel to investigate the Prisoner of War - Missing in Action issue.

Representative Lillie presented his resolution to the committee and explained the importance.

The following people testified on HF303:

Representative Morrow renewed his motion that HF303 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Urdahl moves that HF564 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

HF564(Urdahl) relating to agriculture; bioenergy; requiring study and report on feasibility of producing ethanol from whey.

Representative Urdahl presented his bill to the committee.

The following people testified on HF564:

Joe Van Groll, Owner Ethanol Plant, Stratford, Wisconsin explained his whey-to-ethanol process to the committee.

Representative Urdahl renewed his motion that HF564 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.
