MINUTES


Representative Michael Paymar, Chair of the Public Safety Finance Division Committee, called the twenty-sixth meeting to order at 8:33 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep Hilstrom moved the Public Safety Finance Division minutes from April 7, 2009, October 7, 2009, and January 25, 2010. MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

Presented information on the Minnesota Sex Offender Program:

Dan Storkamp, Deputy Director, Minnesota Sex Offender Program.
Dennis Benson, Executive Director, Minnesota Sex Offender Program.
Jannine Hebert, Clinical Director, Minnesota Sex Offender Program.

Presented information on sex offender treatment in state correctional facilities:

Steve Allen, Behavior Health Services Director, Department of Corrections.
Ken Merz, Director, Community Administrative Services, Department of Corrections.

Review of the July, 2007, Minnesota Department of Health report "Costs of Sexual Violence":

Presented and reviewed information in the report:

Donna Dunn, Executive Director, Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MNCASA).
Dean Eric Janus, William Mitchell College of Law.

The committee was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
