MINUTES


Representative Michael Paymar, Chair of the Public Safety Finance Division Committee, called the twentieth meeting to order at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Ward moved the Public Safety Finance Division minutes from March 19, 2009. MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.


HF1523 (Haws) Modifying fee for booking a person for confinement at a county or regional jail:

Rep. Haws moved that HF1523 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Omnibus bill.

Testifying on HF1523:
John Tuma, Lobbyist, Minnesota Inter-County Association

Chair Paymar moved that HF1523 pass and be laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Omnibus.

HF1809 (Hilty) Department of Corrections’ per diem law modified

Chair Paymar moved that HF1809 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Omnibus bill.

Chair Paymar lays over HF1809 for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Omnibus bill.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 a.m.
