MINUTES
Representative Mary Murphy, Chair, called the eighth meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Murphy called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
A quorum was present.
Vitali Gueron, committee page, shared his photo and story with the committee.
Representative Eken moved that the minutes of February 11, 2009 be adopted
THE MOTION PREVAILED
Patrick McCormack, House Research, outlined the planning exercise that the committee would complete.
The committee and members of the public worked in small groups to complete the planning exercise.
Sheila Smith of Saint Paul, Executive Director of Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, shared the goals and indicators that her group developed.
Linda Bruemmer of Saint Paul, Acting Director of Environmental Health for the Minnesota Department of Health, shared the goals and indicators that her group developed.
Jeff Nelson of Saint Paul, Public Affairs Director for Minnesota Public Radio, shared the goals and indicators that his group developed.
David Kelliher of Saint Paul, Legislative Liaison for the Minnesota Historical Society, shared the goals and indicators that his group developed.
Doug Carnival of Minneapolis, Counsel to the Minnesota Parks and Recreation Association, shared the goals and indicators that his group developed.
Representative Eken shared the goals and indicators that his group developed.
Representative Torkelson shared the goals and indicators that his group developed.
