Representative Mary Murphy, Chair, called the eighteenth meeting to order at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2009 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Ms. Dalton answered questions from the committee

Keith Carlson of Saint Paul, on behalf of the Minnesota Inter-County Association, testified to HF1195

Mr. Carlson answered questions from the committee

Joe Matthews of Saint Paul, on behalf of the Association of Minnesota Counties, testified to HF1195

Mark Ranum of Minneapolis, on behalf of the Minnesota Library Association, testified to HF1195

Gary Carlson of West Saint Paul, on behalf of the League of Minnesota Cities, testified to HF1195

Michelle Weber of Roseville, on behalf of the Minnesota Department of Education, testified to HF1195

Suzanne Miller of Roseville, Minnesota State Librarian, testified to HF1195

Ms. Miller answered questions from the committee

Representative Morgan moved that HF1195 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Finance
THE MOTION PREVAILED

The committee discussed what was learned over the past two Monday hearings and what the next steps are

Representative Brown moved that the minutes of March 18, 2009 be adopted

The meeting was adjourned at 6:49 p.m.
