MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:45PM on February 11, 2010, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.


Dr. Ralph Brauer, former executive director of the Transforming Schools Consortium, provided an overview of his dynamic systems model for K-12 education.

A quorum was present at 2:50pm.

Representative Garofalo moved the minutes of February 9, 2010 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Dr. Nicola Alexander, Associate Professor, Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development, College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota, presented "School Finance: A Brief Look at the Issues."

Dr. Karen Seashore, Professor, Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development, College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota, presented "Creating Successful Schools: Some Issues to Consider in K-12 Funding."


The meeting was adjourned at 4:15PM.
