MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:45PM on March 18, 2010, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Doepke moved the minutes of March 17, 2010 be adopted.

HF3267 (Newton) A bill for an act relating to education; establishing an advisory task force on school desegregation and integration.

Representative Newton moved HF3267 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Newton offered H3267A2 as an amendment to HF3267.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Newton, Scott Croonquist, Executive Director, Association of Metropolitan School Districts and Kathy Griebel, Director of Education Services, East Metro Integration District, West Metro Education Program and Northwest Suburban Integration District, testified.

Representative Newton renewed his motion that HF3267, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.



HF3043 (Kalin) A bill for an act relating to education; providing for computer-adaptive assessments.

Representative Greiling moved HF3043 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Kalin and Dirk Mattson, Assessments and Testing Director, Minnesota Department of Education, testified.

Representative Greiling offered H3043A2 as an amendment to HF3043.

Representative Mariani moved HF3163 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Mariani offered A3163A19 as an amendment to HF3163.
