MINUTES


Representative Loren Solberg, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. on April 16, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Carlson moved to adopt the minutes of April 14, 2007 as presented

Representative Solberg moved that HF854 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register.

Representative Solberg moved to amend HF854 as follows: see H0854A12.

Representative Swails assumed the position of Chair.

Representative Swails renewed Representative Solberg's motion that HF854 pass as amended and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Dean moved an oral amendment to SF2171 as follows: Article 7, section 61, page 375 as follows: Delete section 61.

Representative Dean withdrew his amendment.

Representative Huntley moved to amend SF2171 as follows: See S2171A4.

Representative Huntley moved an oral amendment to S2171A4 as follows: page 1, line 1.25 after the word line, delete 2 and insert 20. This amendment was incorporated into SF2171A4M.

Representative Dean moved to amend SF2171 as follows: See S2171A8.

Representative Dean moved an oral amendment to SF2171A8 as follows: Page 14, delete section 6. This amendment was incorporated into sf2178A8.

Rep Dean renewed his motion to amend ssf2171 as follows: see s2171A8 as amended. A roll call vote was requested.
Those voting in the affirmative were: Abeler, Dean, Erhardt, Gunther, Holberg, McNamara, Paulsen, Smith, Sviggum.

Those voting in the negative were: Solberg, Brynaert, Carlson, Clark, Eken, Hilstrom, Hilty, Huntley, Kahn, Mariani, Murphy, E., Murphy, M., Pelowski, Sertich, Swails, Tschumper.
ON A VOTE OF 9 AYES AND 16 NAYS:
THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED

Representative Dean moved to amend SF2171 as follows: See S2171A9

Representative Huntley moved to divide amendment S2171A9 as follows: Delete Page 19, line 7.
Rep. Huntley withdrew his request for division.

Representative Dean renewed his motion to amend SF2171 as follows: See S2171A9. A roll call vote was requested.

Those voting in the affirmative were: Abeler, Dean, Eken, Erhardt, Holberg, McNamara, Paulsen, Pelowski, Smith, Sviggum.

Those voting in the negative were: Solberg, Brynaert, Carlson, Clark, Hilstrom, Hilty Huntley, Kahn, Mariani, Murphy, E., Murphy, M., Sertich, Swails, Tschumper.

On a vote of 10 Ayes and 14 Nays,

Representative Abeler moved to amend SF2171 as follows: See SF2171A5.

Representative Abeler withdrew his amendment SF2171A5.

Representative Huntley renewed his motion that SF2171 as amended be passed and placed on the General Register.
