MINUTES


Representative Loren Solberg, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 8:45 A.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Omnibus early childhood, family, adult, and pre-kindergarten through grade 12 education finance bill.

Representative Greiling moved that HF6 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Solberg moved to amend HF6 as follows: Page 85, line 29 delete 58 and insert 60.
THE MOTION PREVAILED THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Representative Greiling and Representative Slawik presented HF6 to the committee.

Representative Holberg moved to amend HF 6 as follows: See HF6amendment1B. A roll call vote was requested.

Those voting in the affirmative: Dean, Gunther, Holberg, McNamara, Ozment, Paulsen, Pelowski, Smith, Sviggum, Swails.

Those voting in the negative: Solberg, Brynaert, Carlson, Clark, Eken, Greiling, Hilstrom, Hilty, Huntley, Kahn, Mariani, Murphy, Sertich.

THERE BEING 10 AYES AND 13 NAYS
THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED

Representative Greiling renewed her motion that HF 6, as amended, be passed and placed on the General Register. A roll call vote was requested.

Those voting in the affirmative: Solberg, Brynaert, Carlson, Clark, Dean, Eken, Erharfdt, Greiling, Hilstrom, Hilty, Huntley, Kahn, Kelliher, Lencewski, Mariani, McNamara, Murphy, E., Paulsen, Pelowski, Sertich, Smith, Swails.

Representative Kahn moved that S.F. 1997 be passed as recommended and be placed on the General Register.

THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED

Representative Sviggum moved to amend S.F. 1997 as follows: see S1997A11.

Representative Sertich moved to divide S1997A11 as follows: line 1.5 thru 1.6.
THE MOTION PREVAILED THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED

Representative Solberg moved the second part of the amendment S1997A11 lines 1.7 thru 1.10 was no longer in balance and therefore out of order.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 A.M.
