MINUTES


Representative Loren Solberg, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM on May 14, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Eken moved to adopt the minutes of May 9, 2007 as submitted.

Construction code and licensing provisions modified, penalties and enforcement provided, statutes recodified, and money appropriated.

Representative Solberg moved that HF1208 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Solberg moved to amend HF1208 as follows: See A12

Representative Sertich moved that HF464 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Sertich moved to amend HF464 as follows: see H0464A33

Representative Sertich presented his bill.

Representative Sertich renewed his motion that HF 464 as amended be passed and be placed on the General Register.

A roll call vote was requested.

Those voting in the affirmative were: Solberg, Carlson, Clark, Eken, Gunther, Hilstrom, Hilty, Huntley, Kelliher, Lencewski, Mariani, Murphy, E., Murphy, M., Ozment, Pelowski, Sertich, Sviggum, Swails, Tschumper.

Those voting in the negative were: Brynaert, Dean, Erhardt, Holberg, Kahn, McNamara, Paulsen, Smith.

There being 19 AYES and 8 NAYS THE MOTION PREVAILED

Independent contractor exemption certificates required, penalties provided, notice to the commissioners of revenue and employment and economic development authorized, and review of certifications of independent contractor status required.

Representative Solberg moved that HF1283 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Nelson presented his bill.

Representative Solberg moved that HF1283 as amended be passed and placed on the General Register.

Claims against the state settlement provided relating to corrections, and money appropriated.

Representative Ozment moved that HF2283 be passed and placed on the General Register.

Representative Ozment presented his bill. Craig Lindeke, House Revisor answered question on HF2283.

Craig Lindeke announced that after 30 years of service to the Minnesota House of Representatives that he would be retiring this summer of 2007.

Representative Solberg thanked Mr. Lindeke for his years of service.

Representative Ozment renewed his motion that HF2283 be passed and be placed on the General Register.
