Representative Ann Lenczewski, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:15 P.M. on Monday, February 19, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Lenczewski moved HF0434 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF 0114 Solberg Public safety radio communication products and services exempted from sales tax.

Representative Solberg moved HF0114 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Sheriff Pat Medure (Itasca County) testified on HF0114.

HF0114 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF0929 Ruud Minnetonka water treatment facility construction materials sales tax exemption provided.

Representative Thao moved HF0929 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

John Gunyou (City Manager, City of Minnetonka), Merrill King (Finance Director, City of Minnetonka) and Gary Carlson (Intergovernmental Relations Director, League of Minnesota Cities) testified on HF0929.

Representative Lenczewski moved the H0929A1 amendment (attached). THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF0929, as amended, was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF0968 Koenen Exempting grain bins and fencing materials from sales and use tax.

Representative Koenen moved HF0968 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Elray Anderson (Owner and President, Custom Ag Services, Inc., Montevideo, MN) and Thom Petersen (Director of Government Relations, Minnesota Farmers Union) and Greg Heck (Attorney, Department of Revenue) testified on HF0968.

Representative Lenczewski moved to amend HF0968 as follows:
Page 1, line 13, strike "dryers" and insert "grain drying systems." THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF0968, as amended, was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF1027 Kahn Extending the sales tax to certain cosmetic procedures.

Representative Rukavina, by request, moved HF1027 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF1027 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF XXXX Ruud

Representative Paulsen moved HFXXXX (Revisor Number 07-2302) be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

George Esbenson (Fire Chief, City of Eden Prairie) and Joe Wallin (Fire Chief, City of Minnetonka) testified on HFXXXX.

HFXXXX was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.
