MINUTES



Representative Mullery, Chair of the Committee, began the meeting at 8:10 AM on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. A quorum was not present.

HF 3000 (Hilstrom): A bill for an act relating to public safety; making technical correction to provisions relating to financing the statewide public safety radio system; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 373.47, subdivision 1.

Representative Hilstrom presented her bill and moved that HF 3000 be recommended to pass, and when so passed, be placed on the Consent Calendar.

HF 2991, First Committee Engrossment (Simon): A bill for an act relating to data practices; modifying provisions of the safe at home program; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, sections 5B.02; 5B.03, subdivision 1; 5B.07; 171.06, subdivision 3; 171.07, subdivisions 1, 3.

Noting the presence of a quorum, discussion on HF 2991 was temporarily suspended while Representative Mullery, Chair, officially called the meeting to order at 8:25 A.M.

HF 3099 (Kalin): A bill for an act relating to state government; requiring emergency management training for certain executive branch employees; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 12.09, by adding a subdivision.

Representative Kalin presented his bill.

HF 847 (Hosch): A bill for an act relating to traffic regulations; authorizing counties and cities to impose administrative penalties for certain traffic violations; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, sections 169.022; 169.99, subdivision 3; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 471.

Representative Johnson moved HF 847 before the committee.

Representative Johnson moved to orally amend the A1 as follows:

Representative Holberg, on behalf of Representative Westrom, moved adoption of the A5 amendment. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Representative Johnson moved that HF 847, as amended, be recommended to pass, and when so passed be re-referred to the Committee on Finance. After a voice vote, Representative Holberg requested a Division. There being 6 AYES and 8 NAYS the MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.
